Rec’n the ‘Rona Virtual Challenge

Keeping the distance, while closing the gap

Help the Renaud Center “keep the distance” in the community with our Rec’n the ‘Rona Virtual Challenge! Compete by completing either 13.1 or 26.2 miles by walking, running, biking or other activities to achieve your goal. The challenge begins on April 24 and ends May 17. For example: walk one mile a day for 13 days or complete a half marathon all at once. It’s your race, do it at your own pace!

All registered participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt to recollect spring 2020. Adult and youth T-shirt sizes are available. Each participant will also be added to a private Facebook group with workouts, family activities, healthy recipes and more! Don’t forget to use the hashtag #RecntheRona to post your workouts on social media.

T-shirt is guaranteed for all registrants through April 30.

To join in the Virtual Challenge:

  1. Register for the Rec’n the ‘Rona Virtual Challenge online now or by calling 636-474-2732
  2. Complete the equivalent a half marathon (13.1 miles) or a marathon (26.2 miles) any time from April 24 – May 17.
  3. Email your finished results to 
  4. Share your photos to our private Facebook group with #RecntheRona (optional)
  5. Pick up your T-shirt, if you didn’t choose the mailed option. Curbside pickup days will be week of May 11th. More details to follow.
  6. Celebrate your accomplishment!

How will I receive my Rec’n the ‘Rona T-shirt?

You can choose to either pick up the T-shirt through no-contact, curb-side pickup at Renaud Center. Or, choose to have the T-shirt mailed to you for an extra $5 fee.

Do I have to complete the challenge all at once or can I split it up?

You set your own pace. Complete the challenge at multiple intervals or all at once. The goal is to get moving and complete your distance goal!

What is a virtual challenge?

There is no specific location for a virtual challenge. Do it at your own pace and convenience, at a safe distance of course! Run, walk, jog or bike during the date range and log your results.

How long is the challenge?

The challenge ends when you complete your half- or full-marathon distance goal or on May 10th.

Can I log multiple different exercise types?

Absolutely! Log all distance based on the exercises that you do.

What types of exercises count?

Log any distance-based exercises as you normally would. Examples include, walking, running, jogging, cycling or any other activity that gets you moving.

How do I enter distances toward the challenge?

Email a screenshot of your workout or a log of your exercises to We also encourage participants to post their progress in the private Facebook event group!

What is the distance for the challenge?

The distance for the Rec’n the ‘Rona Virtual Challenge are either 13.1 miles (half marathon) or 26.2 miles (full marathon) accumulated miles. Choose whichever distance you feel most comfortable with.

Remember this virtual challenge is done at your own pace. Walk one mile for 13 days or run two half marathons… it’s entirely up to you!
